George Clooney: I am single but not lonely...'Sexiest man alive 1997', 'best-dressed male TV-star' and one of 'The most beautiful people of the world'-superstar George Clooney (40) collects titles and conquers beautiful women because this is the specialty of the heartbreaker. At the moment you can see him in the movie 'Oceans 11'. He plays an ex-convict who wants to rob the biggest casinos in Las Vegas.
Bella: For your role in 'Oceans 11' you trained in casinos in Las Vegas. Are you a good player?
GC: I never was one and I will never be one. I am a bad player. I have never won anything in Las Vegas. While we were shooting I had to borrow $600 from Matt Damon because I lost so much.
Bella: Your friend and colleague Mark Wahlberg said wherever you shoot and whenever you are in a public place you cause a big riot. Especially the women go wild.
GC: That is exaggerated. That always happens when Hollywood is somewhere. To the women, that is a logical consequence when your are a bachelor and well-known.
Bella: Do you feel comfortable being a confirmed bachelor?
GC: It has its advantages. If you are single and a relationship ends, you don't need a lawyer. You don't have to worry about repentance and guilt feelings when you don't feel love for the other anymore. But I have to admit that it was easier being a bachelor when I was younger.
Bella: Why?
GC: As a nobody you can try out all your seduction skills on the girl you like. Now that I'm well-known, I've lost that.
Bella: Is your status as a star the reason you don't have a lucky hand in your relationships?
GC: It has more to do with my work. I am totally involved in it.. I am not only an actor -- I also own a production company and I am very focused on finding new movie projects and producing them.
Bella: No time for love?
GC: I am not lonely. I go out. But for love, there isn't left much time, that's right. I work 12 hours a day, even when I'm not filming. That will certainly change one day.
Bella: Will you than marry?
GC: I wouldn't make a bet on that. I don't know if it will ever happen. I was married once and I didn't have much fun. Not that I didn't love my wife, but I believe I wasn't a good husband.
Bella: Do you want to be a dad one day?
GC: I would need a mother for that. And because I'm not looking for such a woman, I won't produce a child for whom I can't be a dad. I am not sure if I would be a good dad.
Bella: Than you don't feel any pressure to settle down like other men at their 40's?
GC: What pressure? Nowadays I'm more concerned with my receding hairline. That is the only pressure now that I'm 40.
Bella: Are you happy with what you achieved?
GC: Absolutely happy. In my career, I've never been in a better position. I get offered more roles than I can take. I have my own company and can do my own movies. And in the worst case, I could get out of it, buy a ranch and breed pigs like Max.
